JU-ON

This intelligent psychological thriller by Japanese director Takashi Shimizu is a nice break from all those stupid, over-budgeted, over-stylized slasher-remakes that are all the rage, even if this director did remake this film, known to us as "The Grudge", but that's a separate story. There is a brutal murder in a home, and a family is the victim. Their death leaves a rage of a spirit, hence the "grudge", on the property, which can never be gotten rid of and will never leave. The unsuspecting imbeciles who cross the grudge's path fall prey to it's deadly power. Sounds kinda stupid, but makes for some very interesting entertainment. If you're as sick as I am of all the lousy rip-offs I mentioned before, you'll welcome this with open arms. Watch to the end scene and you'll get the creeps. In Japanese with English subtitles. Yes, although I liked "The Grudge" a-lot; Ju-On was the original and usually originals are better. As was Ringu 1 + 2; From what I here and read (haven't seen yet) even scarier versions then their American re-makes The Ring 1 + 2. I believe some of these directors did the American versions as well. Did like the re-make of Dark Water better than the original, however. All these movies came within a couple years of each other - the American re-makes were made soon after the originals. J-Horror is AWESOME! From what I understand there are about twelve more J-Horror movies being re-made for American audiences soon. I too have tired of the same crap out of Hollywood which is why we've both (Me and Hollywood)turned to the Japanese.

P.S. I made a CREME BRULEE -No, No, No, Stick to what you know! - High School Musical (Yes I did watch this - I said, as I silently blushed)!

Before filming, the cast and crew went through a ceremony where they were blessed so nothing bad could happen to them for filming...

Julio, the Japanese seem to do this on many horror movies. On Eko eko azaraku they have a behind the seens showing this. Sucks it wasn't done for Poltergeist.

P.S. David Lynch gets free gatorade.
